ROBIN

The next portrait subject I chose is someone I have really adored over the years and was so saddened by his passing. I always hear a collective sigh when ever his picture comes up and there is more than one person in the room. It’s ROBIN WILLIAMS.

What I loved so much about this portrait was that he isn’t being the “manic Robin” but has the serene look that could almost pass for melancholy. The suspenders, a perfect nod to both his breakout role as Mork and setting an 80’s trend. The furry chest was simply a must to include. What I really loved (and still do) about Robin Williams is his eyes which convey so much all at once but especially a vulnerability that truly spoke to the masses. Such a gifted actor, comedian and gem of a human.

I don’t think I ever have heard anyone say anything bad about him other than the occasional reference to his ongoing addiction issues but faults only make people more human and whole. That is one thing we can all relate to is that we have weaknesses and faults.

The eyes speak volumes.

Robin always joked about how furry he was.

Shirt detail.

He was wearing a gold chain. Hints of some sparkly thread here to represent that.

Right to the heart, am I right?

I am still sad I no longer walk the planet with this guy but I’m glad he left behind a legacy of wonderful art to keep enjoying!!!

Thanks for visiting and taking this little stroll down memory lane! A nice one to before gliding into the holidays.

Thanks for following my portrait adventures. I plan on learning a lot on new stitch techniques in the new year which I hope you can join me for.

Warmly,

Pam
