DIANA

I have always been fascinated with Diana. Whenever I see an image of her, I have to stop what I am doing and investigate. I’m not sure why I (and ba-jillions of others) are so captivated by her.

Her wedding was like a fairy tale, come to life. She was so young and shy which made it all the more charming.

Watching her come-of-age and find new strength, as well as her place in the world made her all the more beloved.

I found an old documentary of her on youtube recently and felt compelled to make her portrait.

I chose a portrait of her that I thought was so fresh and doe-eyed, as we all first remembered her when she came on the scene. She still had baby fat on her cheeks. So young!

Her eyes were such an electric blue. I added the mascara last.

I loved that the stones in her earrings were the same royal blue as her eyes (excuse the pun.)

Her lips and teeth were really challenging, especially the fact that the light was highlighting her face from the left side so they varied in color.I really enjoyed making this portrait. I still find her magical.Of course now I’m going to have to watch some more documentaries ……Thanks for joining me in my portrait adventures!Warmly,Pam
