A couple of days ago I received a package. I ran to the door to retrieve it (because who doesn’t love a package, right?). It was actually addressed to my neighbors and was delivered to my house in error. It happens from time to time. I have often been waiting for packages for a few days not knowing they were delivered accidentally to the wrong address. With this thought in mind, I ran it over to her house and texted her that it was at her door. She sent me back a picture of what was in the package. It was her granddaughter’s first pair of fancy shoes. She’s going to be a flower girl in a wedding. The picture was so precious so I decided I would paint it.
Her tiny, little girl foot was extended admiring the sparkly shoe. I could see her in my mind’s eye wiggling her foot to watch the light catch all those sparkles.
I decided to take it a step further (as I always tend to do) and embroider it.
I used two threads for the knots. I am also in love with DMC Etoile thread. It is not stiff at all and has the perfect hint of sparkle! There are some glass beads in there too.
Here is the finished piece. I can’t wait to leave it on her doorstep:) Turns out that package was a gift for me after all.
Thanks for stopping by!
