I have a fantastic and super simple last minute gift idea for you. All you need is a spray bottle, some cheap vodka, and the essential oils of your choice. Not only does this make a great gift option but it also is great to have at your house to freshen your linens before the arrival of guests. It is linen spray! Linen spray can be used on towels, pillowcases, couches, and anywhere that might need a freshening up. Here is the recipe that I used for a festive holiday scent:
Now I will take through the simple steps to make your own:
Gather up your supplies.
1. You will need some vodka. I bought the cheapest bottle I could find.
2. An empty spray bottle with a "mist" feature
3. Essential Oil of your choice (I used cinnamon, clove, orange and fir balsam for a holiday scent).
Pour one cup of vodka into the spray bottle.
Next add your oils. This is a matter of personal preference as to how strong you want your scent. I added 10 drops cinnamon oil, 10 drops sweet orange oil, 10 drops fir balsam oil, and 5 drops of clove oil. I secured the top then shook the bottle gently to mix the blend together. That's it!!! Be sure to test this first on an indiscreet area to make sure it does not discolor your fabric. To use, gently mist on any area that you want to freshen. Great examples of this are guest towels in your bathroom, pillowcases, couch cushions, sheets that have been sitting in your linen closet, and even in the air as a room freshener. What is great about the vodka is that it evaporates quickly and leaves the scent behind. You don't want moisture in your fabrics which can mold and totally defeat the purpose.
I also used this to clean my kitchen countertops. It left them super shiny and my whole kitchen smelled great!
There you have it. A simple last minute gift idea or a little gift to yourself!
Happy Holidays!
